Vidwat Sanman

Learned saints are the glory of any Vedic Sampraday. In the same tradition Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan also emphasised on the Scriptural Sanskrit study and founded the path of Vedic knowledge to preserve and propagate the Sampraday for the betterment of all living beings. During the His time of human life on earth Sadguru Shree Nityanand Swami, Sadguru Shree Gopalanand Swami and other learned saints glorified the Sampraday among the literate society and well established the Vedic authenticity of Sampraday in populace. Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan honoured the learned saints many times as they are the leader of knowledge and tradition of the Sampraday. This custom was continued and several learned saints propagated the Sampraday in succeeding flow of time. A huge Sanskrit Pathashala was established at Vadatal temple with the highly erudite Pandits for the Sanskrit education of saints and many scriptures were also prepared during this time. But in the flow of time this marvellous tradition was somewhat fading. However erudite saints were serving the Sampraday at their level best. With the intension to boost up this knowledge tradition H.H. Acharya Maharajshree Rakeshprasadji Maharaj decided to honour the learned personalities of the Sampraday as Shreeji Maharaj was doing.

Shree Kamaleshbhai Chokshi (HOD, Grammar & literature, Gujarat Uni.) said that along with the knowledge the preservation and propagation of that knowledge is also essential. Only knowledge can come out from darkness. Well-to-do families should support the learned which is the Indian Tradition. Shree Rampriyaji (Principal, Darshanam Sanskrit Mahavidyalay, Gurukul Chharodi, SGVP) politely requested that this is the place from where Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan gave command for the ‘Pravatniya Sadvidya’ (propagate the true knowledge) in Shikshapatri. This is the place where Sanskrit Mahavidyalay was functioning with great erudite Ambarkrisnamacharya and learned saints of entire Sampraday. So it is very essential that onece again the activity of Sanskrit Mahavidyalay should restart from here. Pujya Maharajshree and all saints welcomed this suggestion with great response.

Shree Dahyabhai Shastri (Founder, Brahmashi Sanskardham, Nadiyad) said that Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan Has preserved the great Indian culture. Culture will be saved by the development of Sanskrit education. To day when entire world is expecting peace and pleasure from India, we should prepare the proper ground for the same.

In the end Pujya Maharajshree addressed the assembly with the wordings that from the throne of Acharya we have addressed many assemblies but this is the first assembly of learned saints where we feel extreme pleasure in our hearts.
