Dhanur Maas, one of the auspicious months ending on day of Makar Sankranti bears the importance of reading & listening of Katha along with religious and social activities.

Gurukul also celebrated the Dhanur Maas with various religious, social activities inculcating values of humanity in the budding minds of students.
Religious events : 

Katha Parayan : At Gurukul Ahmedabd and at SGVP Saints delivered the Katha on various scriptures like Satsangi-Bhushan, Bhagawat – Dasham Skandh, Vachanamrut, Bhakta Charitra

Satsangi-Jivan Katha : Sadguruvarya Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami orated Katha of Satsangi-Jivan at Gurukul Ahmedabad during  Dec 22 – 28, 2013.

Purani shree Balkrishnadasji Swami delivered the Katha at Bapunagar Satsang Mandal
Falkut : At SGVP Students organized a Falkut and decorated various fruits to offer Shree Ram Shyam Ghanshyam Maharaj. With the inspiration of Sadguruvarya Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami, all Prasad of Falkut was distributed to Hospitals and Schools.
Gau-Poojan : Students performed the Gua-poojan and enjoined to feed the caws and Calves
Maha-Pooja : Students participated in group Maha-pooja
Shree MahaVishnu Yag : Students of SGVP performed the Mahvishnu Yag and offered the Ahuties in Yagna.
Pad Yatra: Saints and students organised a Padytra to Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Kalupur and in early morning went to temple on foot and performed the Darshan of Shree Narnarayan Dev.
Sant Padharamani : Students decorated their rooms and invited the saints for Padharamani.
Tulsi Vivah : Dhanur Maas is an auspicious month in which the various festival of the year are being celebrated. In the same tradition, festival of Tulasi Vivah also celebrated marvelously at SGVP. Bhagwan Shaligram from Gurukul Ahmedabad married with Tulsiji at SGVP. Sadguruvarya Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami explained the spiritual importance and intention behind the celebration.
 
Social Events : Dhanur Maas has equal importance for the social activities beneficial to all needy persons.
Visit to Orphan Home: During the visit of Orphan Home students provided the educational kits.
Visit of Physical & Mental disables School: Students spend the time with disable retarded students and   supplied daily useful articles
Visit of Old age Home : With affection, students visited old age home and helped the old people with love. Old aged persons heartily blessed the students 
Fruit Distribution: Prasad of Falkut was distributed in Hospitals to poor and needy patients 
Blanket Distribution : Students personally visited the poor people on roadside & slum areas and wrapped with blankets 
Cleanliness Campaign : To inculcate the habit of Clean and healthy environment, students got participated in Cleanliness Campaign enthusiastically
 
Sports:  In student life, sports also play a vital role in all-round development. 

Pramprakash Tournament : In Pramprakash Tournament students participated in various in-door and out-door games like football, basketball, tennis, badminton, chess and many more.

Marathon Run : Marathon run was organised in three categories and with enthusiasm, students participated in run. Purani Swami Shree Bhaktiprakashdasji Swami, Purani shree Balkrishnadasji Swami and Dr. Dhaduk from USA encouraged the participants with rewards. During the Dhanur Maas students also enjoyed the Corn-maize Festival & Sugarcane Festival.
 
Makar Sankranti Celebration

Poornahuti of Katha Parayan : On the occasion of Poornahuti of Dhanur Maas Katha, Sadguruvrya Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami and Sadguru saints delivered the occasional speeches and blessed the devotees. 

Gau Poojan : Makar Snakranti bears the importance of Gau-Poojan and charity. Sadguru saints and devotees performed the Gau-Poojan as per the scriptural tradition. Pandits and Rushikumars of Darshanam Sankrit Mahavidhyalay performed the Gua-Poojan
