Rajkot Swaminarayan Gurukul and its allied branches have been renowned for activities for upliftment of the society, true educational development and spiritual proceedings. This organisation was established in the year 1948 and right from inception has been sincerely contributing towards development of the humanity.
During natural calamities, Gurukul has played vital roles for service to mankind which includes distribution of food packets, utensils, medicines, cloths and supplementary as per the need of the hour. They have built numerous tents for shelter and also constructed skillfully designed schools in worse-quake hit places like Kutch-Bhuj and Latur. At the time of famine or scarcity they have organized cattle camps prolonged for reasonable period. This organisation has also constructed dams, check dams in flood hit areas. Significant water recharging wells, contemporary ponds, field ponds, hand pumps have been put up by this organisation. Numerous health camps for both humans and animals have been successfully accomplished by this institution. Our revered saints have been cheerfully donating ampoules of blood.
Recently the coastal territories of southern India were severely hit by the Tsunami waves which left thousands dead and lakhs have been rendered homeless. The saints from Gurukul Hyderabad immediately rushed to those affected areas with 13,000 food packets and 1000 blankets distribution of which was done by Sadguru Shree Devprasaddasji Swami and other saints.
Meanwhile Shree Mukeshkumar Meena IAS joint collector of Ongole District recognizing the social achievements of the organisation invited Swamiji to join hands to help the people.
