Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul Rajkot promotes several activities to cultivate the moral & spiritual values of new generation in this era of polluted culture. Friendship and atmosphere affects tremendously on the life of kids and teenagers. In many ways, Gurukul provides holy atmosphere and good company with affection and guidance of pious saints.
One such method is the training in group. Under the banner of Bal-manch, a number of Bal-centers are functioning in this direction. In the vacation time they arrange for ‘Bal-Shibir’ for vigorous training in the field of spirituality and traditions of the Sampraday.
A ‘Satsang Bal Shibir’ was arranged at SGVP for the age group 10 to 17 during May 06th to 09th, 2006. 65 participants from Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Ghandhinagar and surrounding towns took the benefit of this training camp (Bal-shibir).
Shibir was inaugurated by holy hands of Sadgur Shastri Swami Shree Madhavpriyadasji swami and Purani Shree Balkrishnadasji Swami. In the very first session importance of such training camps in the life was explained to the partakers.
Along with practice of some of the general human values and cultural ethics, training schedule was pointed toward the basic rituals and principles of Sampraday. In various sittings, gatherings, discussions and debates students practically trained for morning Pooja, Manasi-pooja, Tilak-Chandalo, How and why offering of Thal, Arati, Darshan, Dandavat Pranam, holy readings, evening Arati, Ghar-sabha, various festivals of the Sampraday. Saints also explained the importance of traditions of Sampraday, Kanthi, recitation of Niyam-cheshta, pure and pious food, Pooja, addiction free life, moral and ideal life, respect to elders, Indian scriptures and Sant-samagam.
Explanations and practical trainings were given with the help of audio visual techniques for the better grasping in mind and life in turn. Moreover entire schedule was framed in a pleasurable manner. So the Shibir was an experience of high gain along with good entertainment. Participants showed excellent performance on IQ tests, daily tests and debates too. Elder saints blessed them for a bright and devotional life.
Feelings of pleasure and satisfaction were reflecting on the faces of participants and parents.
