According to Indian Scriptures, Bhagawan incarnates Himself on the earth from time to time for the protection of devotees from evils and to fondle them. During His manifestation the places visited by Him become the divine shrines. Any object, entity or thing used by Bhagawan becomes great treasure for His followers. During His embodiment, Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan Has bestowed with number of such divine things as a symbol of bliss. These highly divine things are known as ‘Prasadi’ in Sampraday.
Near Ahmedabad the region of Mahesana district is known as ‘Dandhavya Desh’. There is a village named Vadu is a pilgrimage place as it is visited 36 times by Shreeji Maharaj. Many a times Shreeji Maharaj conferred many Prasadi things to Shree Jerambhai Mandaldas Patel. These Prasadi things were preserved and worshipped with utmost honour and devotion in his family generations.
Present family members Shree Dr. Govindbhai Nagardas Patel, Shree Prahladbhai Kandas Patel, shree Ambalalbhai Hajivanbhai Patel, Dr. Narayanbhai Harjivandas Patel, Dr. Shamaldas Kandas Patel, Shree Dahyalal Prabhudas Patel, Shree Viththalbhai and other brothers planned to make this divine heritage beneficial for all. They decided to dedicate these Prasadi at SGVP Prayer Hall and so any one can have the privilege of Darshan.
With this holy intension they arranged for a ‘Samarpan function’ at Gurukul Ahmedabad on 12 May 2007. This sanctified occasion was specially blessed by Pujya Shree Kothari Swami Shree Harijivandasji Swami and Sadguru Purani Shree Shreeharidasji Swami from Rajkot.
In the morning Thakorji and saints had done Padharamani at the home of Yajmans. Pujya Shree Kothari Swami, Sadguru Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami, Sadguru Purani Shree Balkrishanadasji Swami performed Arati of Thakorji and Prasadi things.
In the form of procession Yajman family brought Prasadi things at Gurukul Ahmedabad.
In the assembly Yajman family donated these valuable Prasadi things to Gurukul. Angarkhu (a long coat or upper garment with stings), Khes (scarf), Datan (twig used as tooth brush), hair, Charnarvind (foot prints on piece of cloth), Jap-mala, Berakho (small Mala) etc were offered for the purpose of Darshan.
At Vadatal, Pujya Brahmchari Shree Dineshwaranandji worships Shree Harikrishna Maharaj and other deities. On this divine occasion he also blessed the ceremony and bestowed the Prasadi Chankhdi (an open wooden shoe) to the Gurukul. Shastri Shree Balkrishnadasji Swami (Metapur) also blessed the occasion with his holy presence and words.
Shree Bhailalbhai Tarpara and his sons Shree Vijaybhai and Dipakbhai also presented a Gupti (a pointed weapon concealed in a stick) and a pair of Charnarvind to Gurukul.
Sadguru Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami explained the importance of Prasadi and blessed the Yajman family for their generosity. Pujya Purani Swami, Pujya Balkrishnadasji Swami, Pujya Shreehari Swami also narrated the occasional speech.
All devotees present there had the privilege of Darshan and holy touch of these Prasadi things. In the end all participants had the Maha-prasad at Gurukul Ahmedabad.
