Gurupoornima – SGVP

Guru-poornima is celebrated all over India with great fervor. In fact the importance of Guru is accepted in almost all cultures and traditions of the world. To make aware with the significance of Guru in other religions and to widen the horizons of the concept of Guru-vandana, at SGVP on 11 July, 2006 Guru-poornima was celebrated to offer reverential obeisance to academic and spiritual masters. Dharma-Gurus from four religious – Hindu, Muslim, Shikh & Christian graced the occasion by their holy presence and adorned the stage of Guru-vandana.
The grand celebration was started with recitation of Morning Prayer, which was followed by a thought-provoking welcome speech of Shree Shankarbhai Patel, Dy CEO of SGVP.
An action song ‘Om Shree Guruve Namah’ was presented by a group of students that enthralled the viewers. An eye-catching and inspirational skit ‘Aruni’ presented by students revitalised reverence for preceptors.
All Dharma-gurus were worshipped and garlanded by students and staff.
Invited spiritual masters inculcated the essence of moral goodness by their inspirational speeches.
Father Aubry Fernandes from Church elaborated the matter of student-teacher relationship that teacher is the fortune-maker and a mentor as well. He emphasised that along with the schooling, education is more essential for the life of students and only dedicated nature of educator can do this.
Gyani Jasbindersingh from Gurudwara delivered a nice speech in a traditional manner and glorified the significance of Guru and the teachings of Guru by deeds.
Maulana Pesh Immam Aabidullah Saheb from mosque elucidated the matter and told that Guru is having a significant place in all religions. Ignorance of Guru is harmful for the followers.
Speeches in Sanskrit and English were given by ‘Darshanam’ and International school students in favour of the glorification of spiritual master.
Appreciation Awards were given to staff members who have shown an exemplary and outstanding performance in their fields of work. They are the role models and also trendsetters who set an example in front of others.
Chief guest Shree Rajendraji Shukla, a Gujarati poet delivered a thought- provoking speech and congratulated for this exceptional celebration of Guru-Poornima.
Students offered gifts and reverence to all educators. Educators expressed bliss and blessed the students for their bright future. This was a cheering and emotional experience for both pupils and preceptors.
