For the all-round development of students of Darshanam Sanskrit Mahavidyalay (DSM) various extra curriculum activities, workshops and training camps are held time to time. During the last summer vacation five vacation development camps were arranged for the students as well as teachers of Darshanam Sanskrit Mahavidyalay.
First Camp : 08 May – 14 May, 2006 For the students of the standard VII
Second Camp : 16 May – 22 May, 2006 For the students of standard X
Third Camp : 23 May – 30 May, 2006 For the students of standard XI
Fourth Camp : 10 June – 18 June, 2006 For the students of standard FYBA
Fifth Camp : 19 June – 26 June, 2006 For the educators and staff of Sanskrit Mahavidyal
In the first camp students were subjected for the various progressive events along with the experience of making home industrial products like scent incense-sticks, candle. Trainers guided them for the internal development and also for the knowledge primary astronomy (Jyotishya).
Students participated in second camp were skilled for the spoken English and personality development by tutors. Moreover, students practically instructed for the IT systems and uses. Along with primary astronomy, Sampraday Stotras and Sanskrit prayers were taught.
Third camp was with the teachings of self awareness, personality development and elocution training. Students were also taught the Sampraday Stotras and other prayers.
Fourth camp was specialised for the practical training of Yagna and Mahapooja. Participants visited the various well developed institutes of various fields like education, publication, IT application, distance learning and universities for the practical knowledge of latest trends of the society.
Darshanam Gyan Satra
Under the banner of ‘Darshanam Gyan Satra’ focused on the training of educators and staff members the fifth camp was held during 19 -26 June, 2006. Implementation of better teaching techniques and to update the teaching skill of educators was center of this camp – Gyan Satra. During the camp successful scholars from education field as well as the related fields guided the educators on various subjects and discussed many topics with them.
On the first day, Pujya Purani Shree Hariswarupdasji Swami amd Shree Rampriyajee – Acharya of DSM lit up the inauguration lamp and the session began with the recitation of Vedic Mantras.
Pujya Hariswarupdasji Swami, en enlightened saint and erudite orator said that the impetus of learning begins with question. So, all inquisitive seekers should come out of their shell to ask questions for clarity. Teachers should know the art of teaching so that the topic can be inculcated in the mind of students. Simplification of teaching methodology is necessary to impart the knowledge. Educational values, ethical values and spiritual values play a significant role to carve a better career of students.
On succeeding days Shree Kamaleshbhai Chokshi (Sanskrit Professor, Gujarat University), Shree Jerambhai Patel (a successful and loving Ex-Principal of Sahajanad College & C.U.Shah College, Ahmedabad), Dr. Mukesh Bhagat (a trainer for kid & youth generation), Shree Jayantbhai Yagnik (a well known advocate, Gujarat High Court), Shree Jaydevbhai Sonagara (an organiser of educator seminars & Principal of D.P. School, Vadaj) Shree Vasantbhai Bhatt (Chancellor, Bhashabhuvan, Gujarat University), Shree Narendrabhai Shastri (Principal, Sanskrit Mahavidyalay – Bhagawat Vidyapith, Sola) were the escort of the Darshanm Gyan Satra.
They directed on way of life of an educator, potential power of Sanskrit, teaching skills, care for student’s talents, real time teaching, teacher evaluation, techniques to overcome the hurdles, efficiency in teaching, Teacher accreditation, self analysis, traditional teaching, and legal guidance.
Every day, in the concluding hours there was the questionnaire session, which made the ambience more pleasant, satisfactory and productive.
On the last day, Sadguru Purani Shree Balkrishanadasji Swami blessed all participants and appreciated the dedicated services of Acharya Shree Rampriyajee, educators and staff for the all-round development of students.
