1st Pratishtha Mahotsav – SGVP

 

Vasant Panchami is an important festival especially for our Sampraday and for the Gurukul family.Bhagawan Shree Swaminarayan wrote the code of conduct – Shikshapatri with utmost compassion for all living beings of the universe on this auspicious day at Vadatal. Sadguru Nishkulanand Swami is one of the great saints and poet of the Sampraday. A great scripture Bhaktachinatamani, whose 175th year is being celebrated, is written by him. Vasant Panchami is the birthday of Sadguru Shree Nishkulanad Swami. A great saint of Sampraday Sadguru Shastriji Maharaj Shree Dharmajivandasji Swami restarted the ancient Gurukul tradition in modern form and bestowed the Sampraday with preservation and propagation of unique and elemental principals of Bhagwan Shree Swaminarayan. Vasant Panchami is the beginning of the season of Spring.
One more divine fascination is added in the ritual i.e. the Pratishtha day of Shree Ram- Shyam & Ghanshyam Maharaj at SGVP, Gurukul Chharodi. The day of 2nd February was the first Pratishtha day and was celebrated with great pleasure and devotion. On 1st February the holy water from Adalaj Vav (Step well) was collected for the purpose of Jal-Yatra. Saints, students, devotees and Yajman-families carried the pots of holy water in a procession with Kirtan, Raas and beats of band party. Holy water pots were welcomed and worshipped with Vedic rituals.
On 2nd February, Poojan was started in the early morning. Shree Ravibhai Trivedi from Canada was the chief Yajman of this Patotsav. Shree Vallabhbhai Babariya (Ahmedabad) was privileged to be the Co-Yajnman as wall as Yajman for Shakotsav. Learned Vedic Pandits of Darshanam Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya performed the rituals as Panchratra Shastra. Pratishtha Poojan was accompanied with holy Maha-Abhishek of Shree Ghnashyam Maharaj, Shree Radha-krishna Dev and Shree Sita-Ramcahndraji. Along with recitation of Vedic Stotras and Mantrs, Sadguru Mahant Swami Shree Devkrishnadasji Swami, Sadguru Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami, Sadguru Purani Shree Bhaktiprakashdasji Swami, Purani Shree Balkrishnadasji Swami, other saints along with Lalji Shree Saurabhprasadji and Shree Ravibhai Trivedi performed the Maha-abhishek with sacred Ganga-jal, Prasadi Tirtha-jal, Panchamrut, Kesar-Jal, various herbal medicines, various fruit juices, sandalwood paste and flowers. Abhishek Darshan was a highly devotional & memorable experience for all participants of the celebration.
Maha-Abhishek was followed by the wonderful Annakut with variety of 108 delicious dishes. Senior saints performed the Arati of Maha-abhishek and Annakut. On account of Shikshapatri Jayanti a recitation and poojan of Shishapatri was performed.  
In the assembly, after the formal speech by senior saints Sadguru Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami explained the importance of the day. In the blessing speech Sadguru Mahant Swami explained the importance of Shikshapatri.
In the end, devotees enjoyed the Maha-prasad of Shakotsav by relishing loaf, brinjal, butter and other dishes of Annakut-prasadam.
On this occasion of First Pratishtha Mahotsav, a Satsangi-Jivan Katha-Parayan was arranged at Gurukul Ahmedabad,  under the Yajmanship of Shree Navinbhai Govindbhai Patel (US) from January 30 to February 05, 2006.
A Shobhyatra was held from home of Yajman to Gurukul on 29th January.
Sadgur Shastri Shree Madhavpriyadasji Swami & Sadguru Purani Shree Gyanswarupdasji Swami along with Purani Shree Krishnapriyadasji Swami, Purani Shree Nandkishordasji Swami explained various divine deeds – Charitras and sermons devotionally.
Ghanshyam Birth and other occasions were celebrated with pleasure. Sadguru Mahant Swami Shree Devkrishnadasji Swami blessed the Yajman family and devotees. Yajman family expressed the feelings of satisfaction and pleasure.
